Fergerson was named North Syracuse's "1992 Man of the Year" for his community involvement and in 1993 was placed on the CNS High School's Wall of Distinction as a role model for youth. In October 1993, the Fergersons were named "New York State Family of the Year" by the Knights of Columbus for their service contributions.
