About Berry-McGreevey-Martens Funeral Home and Cremation Service
In 1955 Forrest E. Zeis opened Zeis Funeral Home on Detroit Ave. in Lakewood. Realizing a need for a comfortable, attractive facility dedicated to serving families that have lost a loved one, Forrest E. Zeis established a true home setting while not forsaking any of the modern amenities that provide comfort and convenience to families seeking refuge during their time of loss.
In 1979 the mortuary was acquired by the McGreevey family. Fifty plus years since opening our doors to the community, Jack & Chad McGreevey, Byron Spooner, Charles Buelow, and Daniel Berry continue to convey that feeling of dedicated private personal service of uncompromising quality.
LOCALLY FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE INCEPTION; McGreevey Funeral Service has consistently provided compassionate service in matchless convenient facilities at a cost significantly less than the mega conglomerates in the community.
In 2015 the McGreevey Family partnered with Daniel Berry and Donald Martens and Sons Funeral Home in Westlake to open the Berry-McGreevey and Donald Martens and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 26691 Detroit Rd. Westlake, OH 44145.
We have handicapped accessible facilities that offer spacious accommodation, and provide a peaceful and comforting atmosphere for our families. There is parking for well over 60 cars, as well as off street parking, at our Lakewood facility and a 100 plus car parking lot in Westlake. The funeral homes are fully handicap accessible including drive up porticoes.
In addition to expansive, yet peaceful, viewing rooms we offer a home like environment complete with comfortable furniture, and a refreshment lounge. Our Lakewood facility also has a children's play area. Our facilities are well equipped and meticulously maintained with a complete and sensible selection of caskets, vaults and cemetery markers along with a full range of cremation products available to all our families.
Our services are inclusive and allow a wide range of options and unique ways to honor a loved ones memory as well as a range of merchandise to accommodate any need.
Our service does not end with the conclusion of the funeral, but continues as time passes with the inclusion of post service support that offer personal help with grieving and assistance with readjustment to normal living for the survivors.
