History
All Civilian Workers on Military bases had to be vaccinated - and some had rugged reactions! The Community club was closed for the Winter to conserve coal and funds. Samuel Loveman was chairman of the Committee. The Miss Beachwood Contest of July 1960 brought many young ladies into the limelight. Camping was as popular then as now and camps were officially inspected. Other beachfront problems confronted the town in the form of houses being built too close to boro-owned land.
