History
The population was 920 at the 2000 census.
Harford was in the former Central New York Military Tract in a tract Township called "Virgil." The town was first settled around 1803. By 1865, the population was 888. Harford is a town in Cortland County, New York County, New York, United States. In the 1970s, Cornell University bought extensive tracts of land for livestock research. The town was established in 1845 from part of the Virgil, New York of Virgil.
