Long Beach is a city in Nassau County, New York, United States. History

Long Beach is a Political subdivisions of New York State#City in Nassau County, New York County, New York on a barrier island off the South Shore (Long Island) Shore of Long Island and one of only two cities in the county. The other city is Glen Cove. It was incorporated in 1923, and is nicknamed 'The City By the Sea' (as seen, in Latin (language) on its official seal).

The community became an Political subdivisions of New York State#Village village in 1918 and a city in 1922. As of the United States 2000 Census, the city population was 35,462. .
