History
The town served a the main shipping point for the Bear River (Utah) River Valley until 1901. On March 7, 1939, Deweyville was granted a municipal charter by the Box Elder County, Utah Elder County. Deweyville was a stop on the Utah and Northern Railway Northern Railroad. Dewey family, Mormon pioneer immigrants from England, left Calls Fort, Utah, and settled at Empey Springs, an area originally settled by William Empey. The population was 278 at the United States Census, 2000 census.
