Star Tannery is an unincorporated community in southwestern Frederick County, Virginia on the Shenandoah County line. Star Tannery is located on Star Tannery Road (State Route 604) off of Wardensville Pike (State Route 55) along Cedar Creek.

Also the home of musician Tommy Gardner, who played for several rock bands in the 1990's before settling down in Star Tannery. There is an in depth history that goes clear back to the Revolutionary War in the surrounding areas as well.
